Country Hall of Fame Expansion Project in the Works

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean unveiled plans to expand the Country Music Hall of Fame on Monday. According to reports in the Tennessean, Hall of Fame Director Kyle Young says "We Really need to expand.We know what happens when you don't do that...It's good business to want to build on success." The proposed expansion includes a 140,000 sqft. building that will cost $37 million.
Mayor Dean also announced that a Hall of Fame expansion could lead to the building of a downtown convention center and 1,000-room convention center hotel adding, "An expanded Country Music Hall of Fame has the potential to make Fifth Avenue an extension of what's already happending on Second Avenue and Broadway."

Bucky Covington To Perform First Concert in Hometown

Bucky Covington is set to give his first concert performance in Rockingham, North Carolina. The singer will participate in the local BackPack Pals outreach program which provides nutitional weekend meals and snacks to children who rely on the local school cafeteria as the primary source of food. The free show will take place on Sept. 26 and concertgoers are encouraged to bring canned food or other non-perishable food item to help support the program.

Robert Earl Keen To Release New Album

Robert Earl Keen is going to drop a new album on September 29 through his own record label. The album titled "The Rose Hotel" will be available exclusively through RobertEarlKeen.com. All 750 vinyl copies will be autographed by Keen- the first LP will be pressed on "Rose Colored" wax and the second LP will be pressed on black wax with an etching on side four. A CD copy is also included with each vinyl record.

Wynonna Judd Hitches A Ride on the Santa Train

 Wynonna Judd is the special guest on the 2009 Santa Train, delivering toys to children. The Santa Train is set to make 14 stops through Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia. "Sharing the joy of the season with children who grew up just like I did is something that I am so privileged to have the opportunity to do," Wynonna explains. "Appalachia has always been close to my heart, and participating in the Santa Train is something very special to me." Wynonna other volunteers will be assisting Santa Claus to deliver 15 tons of toys and 6 pallets donated by the Children's Miracle Network to residents along the route.
